The Indian accounting association is an interface between academicians, professional and practitioners from various universities, business, industry and government. The main function of IAA is to promote and disseminate the knowledge of accounting and the related subjects in India and abroad. Further, it aims to undertake and encourage research in the field of accounting.
Ever since its inception, the IAA has served as an important forum for raising the status of accounting both as a discipline and as an important tool for managerial decision making. The association was founded by academicians and professionals in accounting on March 17, 1969, and was inaugurated on February 14, 1970 by the Accountant General of Uttar Pradesh. It is a member organization of International Association of Accounting Education and Research(IAAER). It is also held in high esteem by American Accounting Association(AAA).IAA South Bengal Branch (erstwhile IAA Midnapore Branch)
South Bengal Branch (erstwhile Midnapore Branch) of Indian Accounting Association was established on February 23, 2008 at Department of Commerce with Farm Management, Vidyasagar University, Midnapore, W.B. with an objective of spreading the academic activities related to business studies taking into its fold members from different colleges and universities of West Bengal and also from other academic institutions, professional bodies, financial institutions and corporate bodies. Presently, the Branch has 253 life members predominantly from the districts of South Bengal including Kolkata and Midnapore, though it has members from North Bengal and outside West Bengal also. At present, it is the sixth largest branch of the Association in terms of strength of membership and hence its importance at the national level.I am happy to know that the website of IAA South Bengal Branch is going to have a new look after 5 years. I must thank the members who are entrusted with this job. You all know that IAA Midnapore Branch was established in the year 2008 in the Department of Commerce with Farm Management, Vidyasagar University. Subsequently, Midnapore Branch was renamed as South Bengal Branch in 2017. At present South Bengal Branch is one of the leading branches of IAA. It now has 253 life members and is now the sixth-largest branch of IAA in terms of number of members. The activities of IAA South Bengal Branch include holding an annual conference in each year, holding of seminars, lectures, publication of an online bi-annual journal entitled, Business Spectrum etc. During the pandemic period of the last two years, the Branch has been engaged in online activities. The meetings of the executive committee of the Branch are now regularly held in online mode. In the last two years we have also organised under FDP two refresher courses on research methodology in collaboration with GAD-TLC in the online mode. These refresher courses were well-attended by research scholars and college teachers. These refresher courses were approved by MHRD, Government of India. In the last two years, the Branch has also organised several international webinars.
The Branch celebrates the foundation day of IAA on 15thMarch each year by organising suitable events. For examples in the last year(2021), a newsletter of IAASBB was published. This year(2022) the Branch organised special lecture on Changing Dimension of Accounting: Role of IAA. It was attended by a large number of members. Many distinguished resource persons delivered lectures on the theme of the special lecture.

The publication charge or processing fee is nil for publishing papers.
